"You shouldn't have to worry about your phone exploding."
Thanks to his quick reflexes, an Indian man avoided being injured by his exploding iPhone 6.
Kishan Yadav, a restaurateur from the northern Indian city of Gurgaon, reported purchasing the 64 GB phone earlier this month for approximately $940.
Two days later, on June 20, he was driving to work when sparks started to fly out of his phone. Yadav grabbed the device and tossed it out of the window.
Fortunately, he had been talking in hands-free mode. “My face could have got burn [sic] as the phone exploded in a matter of seconds,” said Yadav. “When I threw the phone, the call was on and the battery was around 70 percent.”
The man retrieved the mangled iPhone 6 and sought to return it. Unfortunately, the retailer told him he would have to contact Apple directly. No word whether he has received a replacement phone yet. Yadav has also filed a police report regarding the incident.
